SCOTTISH retail chain Scotmid Co-op has been recognised by GroceryAid for its charitable efforts by being named as a GroceryAid Gold Supporter for 2025.

Reflecting the society’s commitment to supporting the wellbeing of its colleagues, the recognition highlights the breadth of support that Scotmid has made available to its workforce of around 3,500 colleagues.

Scotmid said it actively promotes GroceryAid and its services through internal awareness campaigns, effective colleague communication, manager briefings and materials which are made available to team members through shared colleague areas.

This has not only helped teams across the society to better understand the charity’s services in the sector, but also provides them with discreet opportunities to engage with GroceryAid.

In addition to this, GroceryAid has also recognised Scotmid’s wider wellbeing initiatives and awareness campaigns.

Scotmid also financially supports GroceryAid and has helped to raise further awareness of the charity via external communications with team members, recognising that many people connected to the society could also benefit from the charity’s services.

Sharon McSorley, people & performance business partner at Scotmid, said: “We are proud to be recognised as a GroceryAid Gold Supporter. Supporting the wellbeing of our colleagues is incredibly important to us, and we have a range of initiatives in place across Scotland to help our team when they need it.

“GroceryAid provides an additional source of confidential help, and we are proud to promote the charity and ensure our colleagues are aware of the wealth of assistance available.”
