Nerds is set to tap into the demand for sour fruity confectionery with the new Cherry Lemonade flavour launch for the Gummy Clusters range.

AMERICAN confectionery brand Nerds has launched a new Cherry Lemonade variant for its popular Gummy Clusters range.

Building up the selection for UK consumers, the new Nerds Gummy Clusters Cherry Lemonade looks to deliver a distinct and multi-textured confectionery option that combines a soft, chewy centre with a crunchy coating of tangy Nerds pieces.

The new Cherry Lemonade sweets brings a sweet and sour mix to the range, blending together sweet cherry notes with a refreshing citrus twist to tap into the rising demand for sour sweets with cherry flavours.

Nerds Gummy Clusters Cherry Lemonade is available now exclusively from Tesco Group and comes with RRP of £2 per 113g bag. The new variant will roll out nationwide in September this year, joining the existing Fruits and Berries flavours on shelf.

That launch will also be supported by a summer campaign dubbed ‘Meet Your New Squeeze’ and is inspired by the excitement consumers can feel through “spontaneous connections” whether this be with friends or “fleeting flings”. Through this, Nerds says this will position the new Gummy Clusters Cherry Lemonade as the “ultimate squeeze” for this summer.

Kevin Massie, European director at parent firm Ferrara, said: “Nerds Gummy Clusters have performed exceptionally well since launch, we’re excited to expand the range with Cherry Lemonade in time for summer. Shoppers are increasingly seeking bold, shareable formats, and this latest flavour delivers exactly that.”
