SOME 31 primary schools in the Cumbernauld area are set to receive new life-saving equipment thanks to local community store Spar Clyne Condorrat.

The first school to benefit from this was Whitelees Primary, which received a new LifeVac device – a safe, non-invasive suction medical device that is designed to stop a child choking when an object is lodged in their windpipe – thanks to a new initiative from the store and supplier Hazkit Ltd.

Laura Murdoch, head teacher of Whitelees Primary School, said: “We are delighted to be the first school in Cumbernauld to receive a LifeVac device as part of this fantastic initiative.

“The safety of our pupils is at the forefront of everything we do, and access to this life-saving equipment provides an added layer of reassurance for staff and parents.

“We sincerely thank Spar Clyne Condorrat and Hazkit Ltd for their generosity and commitment to child safety.”

In collaboration with Hazkit, Spar Clyne Condorrat is helping to finance the installation the devices in primary schools across the town to provide these schools with a crucial tool that can respond to choking emergencies.

This initiative marks a significant step forward in enhancing child safety in the Cumbernauld area, with further installations rolling out throughout the coming months.

LifeVac Europe has reported that over 3,300 lives have been saved using these devices, highlighting the effectiveness of the apparatus.

Angela Mason, from Spar, said: “We are thrilled to partner with Hazkit Ltd on this life-saving initiative.

“The safety and well-being of children in our community is paramount, and we are confident that these LifeVac devices will provide valuable peace of mind to parents and school staff.”
