Seeking out the best pie-oneers across Scotland

AVID bakers and butchers are urged to get their submissions in for the annual World Championship Scotch Pie Awards before the deadline of 3 March.
Marking the 25th awards ceremony this year, the World Championship Pie Awards recognises some of the most delicious and inventive pies in Scotland across multiple categories.
The awards breaks down the categories to recognise the variety of pie options available in the market, with the top prize of World Scotch Pie Champion being the ultimate accolade of the event – and is currently held by the Blairgowrie-based James Pirie & Sons.
Categories include:

• Football Pies & Savouries
• Macaroni Pie
• Steak Pie
• Sausage Roll
• Hot Savoury
• Vegetarian Savoury
• Haggis Savoury
• Bridie
• Apple Pie
Deadline for entries must be submitted by Monday 3 March and no later, with judging and shortlisting to take place by 26 March before the finalists will be invited to an Awards Event at the Hilton, Glasgow on 10 May. Submissions can be made to the World Championship Scotch Pie Awards website here.
