CMBC has launched a new variant under the Shipyard brand straight from the US with the new American Session Pale Ale brew.

DRINKS giant Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing Company (CMBC) has launched its latest pale ale into the UK with the new Shipyard American Session Pale Ale.

Marking the latest addition to the Shipyard brand in the UK, the new brew comes direct to British shoppers from Portland, Maine where the ale is brewed at the family-owned Shipyard Brewery.

Shipyard is already established as a brand in the UK, with its Shipyard IPA and Shipyard Pale Ale already on shelves across the country.

The new American Session Pale Ale offers consumers a slightly lower ABV drink at 3.4% that is “bursting with tropical fruity aromas” says CMBC, with a quartet of four American hop varieties including Chinook, Cascade, Columbus and Centennial.

The new brew has rolled out across the off-trade in both four packs as well as ten packs of 440ml cans, with a 500ml bottle available as well. Shipyard American Session Pale Ale can be found on shelves across Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrisons and Waitrose now.

Jo Marshall, director of marketing for ales and craft at CMBC, said: “Shipyard’s mission is to take great, refreshing beer that’s full of flavour and share it around the world. We’re proud to take another fantastic step by sharing the new Shipyard American Session Pale Ale with British fans.

“Beer drinkers increasingly want more choice and high-quality experiences with their drinks, whilst they are also more aware of moderation. As shared in the name, the new beer is a delightfully sessionable ale that fulfils both these needs, using bold American hops and fine ingredients to craft a brew that is perfect for enjoying with family and friends.”
