We highlight new products that Scottish c-store retailers might want to stock

1. Ilchester Festive Cheese Selection

SOMERSET-BASED brand Ilchester Cheese has launched a new range of special offerings in time for the Christmas season.

The brand’s new Festive Cheese Selection consists of The Ilchester Red Leicester Cheese with Cracked Black Pepper, Ilchester Cheddar Cheese with Apple Onion and Sage, Ilchester Wensleydale Cheese with Cranberries and Ilchester Smoke Flavoured Cheddar Cheese.

The selection will be available across Iceland stores in the UK and retails for £5 per pack.

In addition to the Festive Cheese Selection, Ilchester has also teamed up with Morrisons stores to launch a new Ilchester Wensleydale Cheese with Spiced Fruits and Brandy, which retails for £1.35 per 100g.

2. Cadbury Creme Egg Bar

MONDELEZ International has unveiled its Easter line up for this year, including a new Cadbury Creme Egg Bar.

The new Creme Egg tablet bar comes in a 123g pack for an RRP of £1.80 and makes up part of the seasonal celebrations that Mondelez will be rolling out in the new year.

This includes the return of the Find the Winning Egg campaign where both retailers and consumers could win some cash prizes after unwrapping the half-milk, half-white chocolate Cadbury Creme Egg.

Lucky consumers who unwrap a special egg could be in with a chance of winning the top prize of £10,000 and lucky retailers who sell the special eggs could win £1,000 for the store.

3. McCain Foods Baby Hasselbacks

McCain Foods has unveiled its new Baby Hasselbacks potatoes, calling it the biggest NPD launch in over a decade for the brand.

McCain Baby Hasselbacks features skin-on whole baby potatoes that have been pre-sliced and comes with a sea salt and cracked black pepper seasoning pack for £3.69 per bag.

Mark Hodge, VP of marketing at McCain, said: “We’re helping our customers to add restaurant quality foods to their home-cooked meals in a matter of just minutes. This new launch is the perfect combination of delicious flavour and convenience.”

4. Capri-Sun Zero

FRUIT juice pouch brand Capri-Sun aims to capitalise on consumer demand for low/no-sugar drinks with the launch of Capri-Sun Zero.

Available in 200ml pouches in Orange, Blackcurrant & Apple and Jungle Drink variants, the new Zero pouches contain between 0.5g and 0.6g of sugar per 100ml, delivering nearly 90% less sugar than standard packs.
