More moves in flavoured milk market

POINTING out that flavoured milk sales continue to grow, Mars Chocolate Drinks and Treats reported that the category is now worth £548 million.

General manager Michelle Frost pointed out that, across Scotland, sales of the milk range from Mars Chocolate Drinks & Treats has grown 14% year on year – with total value sales of £1.8 million.

When it comes to making the most of their flavoured milk stock, Frost said retailers should offer variety in their chillers.

“The inclusion of fruit and protein drinks plus specialist dietary alternatives such as oat milk drinks will satisfy different consumer requirements,” she said.

“A combination of impulse bottles for individuals to drink while on-the-go and larger formats, such as the 702ml Mars Milk to share, is also advisable.”

Mars has recently extended its range with the launch of the M&M’s Brownie Milk drink.

Frost added: “Clear signage to new products will help attract new shoppers to flavoured milk.”
