Baby saved in Asda Edinburgh store

Parents hold their baby outside an ASDA store

ASDA store employees saved a baby’s life after the 16-month-old stopped breathing in the Asda Edinburgh store.

Colleagues Dean Carpenter and James Jenkins were both called after the baby had a seizure in the store, causing him to stop breathing.

Carpenter helped to massage the baby’s chest until he started to breathe again. Baby Finlay stopped having seizures by the time the family arrived at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and doctors confirmed he was safe to leave the following morning.

Carpenter said: “We are just so pleased that Finlay was OK in the end.”
