SCOTTISH footfall continues to lag behind the total UK figure, according to the Scottish Retail Consortium (SRC).
The SRC-Sensormatic IQ Footfall Monitor shows that total Scottish footfall decreased by 13.4% over the five weeks to 1 October when compared with the same figure from 2019.
While this was 1.4 percentage points better than August 2022, it was still below the UK average of 9.8%.
Ewan MacDonald-Russell, deputy head at the SRC, said: “As inflation bites into customer budgets, it is clear high street retailers are a long way down on 2019 trading.”
