Kernels of wisdom: Burts bets on popcorn with the launch of ready-to-eat packs.

BURTS Snacks has popped out a new range under its Burts brand.

Burts Popcorn comes in ready-to-eat packs in two flavours: Lightly Salted (20g) and Sweet & Salty (28g). Both are suitable for vegans and vegetarians and contain 126Kcal or less per 20g portion.

The crisp and snack manufacturer, which also produces snack brand Popcorn & Me, claims to be the only brand producing both ‘hand cooked’ and ‘small batch’ popcorn products in the UK.

Dave McNulty, chief executive of Burts Snacks, said: “It’s great to be expanding the products in our range, especially with our focus on building the Burts brand, and it makes perfect sense to use our expertise to develop the ultimate popcorn under Burts.

“The two new flavours will be sure to satisfy our consumers’ snacking cravings, whether sweet or savoury.

“At Burts we pride ourselves on delivering quality, hand-cooked products that are made with care.

“That is why offering popcorn that is done right to our new and existing customers is a vital step forward as Burts continues to grow.”

Burts has been producing snacks from its Devon base since 1999.

The manufacturer uses Red Tractor scheme approved potatoes from local growers for its crisps.

According to the brand, its “key mission” is to make delicious snacks while also supporting independent suppliers and growers.
