SPAR Scotland wholesaler CJ Lang reached out to suppliers last month through a digital briefing with a focus on growth.

The supplier briefing saw Colin McLean, chief executive at CJ Lang, provide food and drink brands with an update on the wholesaler’s sales performance and plans for the future.

McLean told attendees that CJ Lang is currently the fastest growing UK mainland Spar business, continues to outperform the market, and is on track for another year of strong profits.

CJ Lang also revealed it is open to acquisitions again, with plans to expand its company-owned estate. New symbol recruits were on the agenda too, with Derek Murray, regional sales manager for CJ Lang, giving suppliers an overview of the Spar Scotland onboarding process for new retail partners.

Briefing attendees were also encouraged to attend the Spar Scotland tradeshow in Aviemore this September. The first major in-person event hosted by CJ Lang since the onset of the pandemic, this year’s tradeshow will take place at the MacDonald Hotel and Resort on 22 September.
