SOME of the biggest names in Scottish convenience retailing have joined the Scotland Loves Local initiative, as it rolls out across the country.
Scotmid, Spar Scotland and One O One Retail have all signed up to accept payments using the Scotland Loves Local Gift Card. Scotland’s Towns Partnership (STP) has been working with the Scottish Government to bring the gift card to all 32 of Scotland’s local authority areas.
Phil Prentice, STP chief officer, said: “We are delighted to get the support of Scotmid, Spar Scotland and One O One Retail, opening up hundreds of stores across the country to shoppers using the Scotland Loves Local Gift Card.”
Prentice has praised stores currently accepting the gift card and said the partnership will help to boost local economies and help protect jobs.
He said: “Shopping with [convenience stores] using a Scotland Loves Local Gift Card is another way in which you can express your thanks and show your loyalty for all they have done and show your support and confidence in them.”
