EDINBURGH multiple retailer and Scottish Grocer Awards 2020 Industry Achievement winner Franco Margiotta has expanded his business with the opening of a new store in Gullane, East Lothian.

The new store is the ninth owned by the family business, operated by Franco, his wife Audrey and their four children.

The family bought the Hall Crescent premises for £330,000 and spent £250,000 on the fit-out, following a £430,000 deal with HSBC UK.

The new store will employ 15 staff and the owners are committed to using local suppliers, having agreements already in place with potato supplier Luffness Mains Farm and organic fruit and vegetable growers Phantassie. The shop will also stock homeware, selling brands such as Joseph & Joseph, LSA Glassware and Le Creuset.

Franco said: “As we have grown over the years, we have continued to strive to offer a personal and local offering to the communities we serve.

“We’re excited to get to know our customers in Gullane and to build relationships with a new network of local suppliers in this next stage of Margiotta’s journey.”
