Matthew’s bourbon is alright

Movie star Matthew McConaughey has a bourbon. The Oscar-winning actor was cast in the role of creative director during the two years of testing and refining of Wild Turkey Longbranch.

McConaughey worked with the bourbon brand’s master distiller, Eddie Russell, to define the flavour that the company said is inspired by the actor’s Texas roots.

The small-batch bourbon is refined with Texas Mesquite and oak charcoals – a method designed to deepen flavour and complexity.

Bob Kunze-Concewitz, chief executive at brand owner Campari, said: “As a lover of bourbon it was a natural step for Matthew to partner with Eddie to create a new product for Wild Turkey. We are proud of the work they’ve done and have great expectations for this new whiskey.”

“Longbranch, in its simplest form, is an extended hand, inviting a friend into your family,” added McConaughey.
