Mini rosé should keep sales sweet

CONVENIENCE is king in modern retail, and the wine category is no exception.

With that in mind, wine brand Barefoot has launched its White Zinfandel rosé in a mini 187ml format.

Barefoot White Zinfandel rosé’s 187ml pack is available now, priced at an RRP of £2.00.

The new variant joins Barefoot’s Pinot Grigio and Merlot, which are already available in 187ml bottles.

Mark Stammers, sales director for UK and Ireland for parent firm E&J Gallo, said: “We are very excited to welcome the 187ml White Zinfandel to the Barefoot family.

“As Barefoot has proven successful with rosé, we thought it only right to introduce a smaller version for our foot fans.

“As consumers are more readily purchasing ‘for tonight’ as opposed to doing a weekly shop, as well as choosing to moderate their alcohol consumption, we expect 187ml items to play an increasingly important role in the wine category for 2019.”

Barefoot has been enjoying strong growth in the rosé category, with value sales up £6.5m in 2018 according to Nielsen’s ScanTrack GB.
