LEAVING things out is the new ‘in’, according to new research from The International Food & Drink Event (IFE).
The firm found that meat-free food and veganism, the free-from movement and booze-free beverages were the top three trends which impacted food and drink businesses in 2018.
Looking forward to 2019, the research found that sustainable packaging, gut-friendly foods and sugar-free are some of the most prominent trends that businesses are looking to leverage for the year ahead.
The findings were revealed following a survey of members of the UK’s largest food and drink event network, which also found that 35% of food and drink businesses have been impacted by the plant-based trend.
The International Food & Drink Event will be held at London’s ExCeL Arena between 17-20 March.
