SCOTTISH rugby legend Finlay Calder is urging Scotmid customers to get behind a campaign in support of former team-mate Doddie Weir’s motor neurone disease charity.

Calder was on hand for the Scotmid launch of Gen!us Craft Lager, a new light craft lager now serving as an official fundraising partner of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

A donation of 5p will be made to the charity for each can of Gen!us sold.

Stephen Brown, Scotland and local sourcing manager for Scotmid said: “Our stores are situated at the heart of Scottish communities and Dobbie is an icon of Scottish rugby, so, as soon as we were made aware of this charity’s partnership with Gen!us, we wanted to support it by stocking the product.”
