THE quest to provide retail workers with greater protection from violence under the law has entered its next phase.

Edinburgh South MSP Daniel Johnson has published the responses to his Not Part of the Job consultation on a new law to protect workers.

Addressing the Scottish Parliament Cross Party Group on Independent Convenience Stores, Johnson said support for the policy had received an overwhelmingly positive response. Johnson added that the consultation had received around 1000 responses from stakeholders and the public.

The Scottish Labour MSP now needs 18 signatures from fellow MSPs to proceed.
