Bassetts brand brings a smile

SMILING is the name of the game for the latest launch from Maynards Bassetts.

Parent firm Mondelez International has introduced five new packs under the Maynards Bassetts banner. The new range comprises: Beaming Beasts Jellies, fruit flavoured animal shapes; watermelon flavoured Cheery Slices Gummies; Silly Snakes Jellies; sour flavoured Chuckle Drops Gummies; and Straw’Merries Jellies.

Mondelez reckons the new range will appeal to younger consumers, with the smiling graphics aimed at attracting a new generation to the gummies category.

To support the launch, Mondelez will be rolling out a range of point of sale materials.

Claire Molyneux, marketing manager for candy at Mondelez International, said of the launch: “Small bags is a growing category and soft jelly leads candy with a 51.3% share, making it a great opportunity for retailers.

“Our new range aims to recruit younger consumers to the category with a variety of shapes and flavours unique to the current Maynards Bassets range. What’s more, the packs can be folded and the smiles graphic placed in front of the mouth to create a silly face, bringing more shareable fun to the experience.”
