BAKERY is the second most frequently bought category in c-stores, according to Aryzta Food Solutions, and it says in-store bakery shoppers spend 70% more than average symbol store shoppers.

Head of retail Vincent Brook said: “For retailers who want to see results from their in-store bakery, there are a few key factors to bear in mind.

“Baking little and often helps reduce waste as retailers will only bake what they need rather than baking a huge amount of product.

“It meets consumer demand for fresh products.
“And having a coffee machine situated next to an in-store bakery provides a fantastic upsell opportunity.”
Brook summed up: “The combination of quality products and a freshly-baked offering proves irresistible to many shoppers.
