Value in visibility

The decision to take the United Kingdom out of the EU has created economic uncertainty and shaken consumer confidence, according to Dairy Crest.

And it says, for retailers, this makes it more important than ever to offer transparent pricing. Senior shopper manager Amy Fisher said: “For many consumers, price-marked packs suggest price reassurance and value for money.
“This is especially true when they appear on well-known brands.”
Dairy Crest offers price-marked and standard packs across its cheese, butters and spreads portfolio and Fisher says it continually reviews its price-marked offering to ensure it remains market competitive.
Adding that in cheese c-store performance is highly reflective of three core shopping missions – top up, food to go and meal for tonight – she continued: “Growth is being driven by sliced, grated and snacking sectors.
“By offering a strong branded solution at a competitive price mark in these growth sectors, retailers have a real opportunity to drive incremental sales.

Convenience retailers are able to offer reassuring and competitive pricing.

“Staples of the weekly fresh top-up, Clover, Utterly Butterly and Cathedral City Block PMPs offer shoppers reassurance that they are purchasing a quality product from a trusted brand, at a competitive price point.
“Cathedral City Sliced and Grated PMPs offer convenient solutions for quick and easy meal preparation.”
The latest PMP from Dairy Crest is the Cathedral City Selections Mini Bag marked at £1.
Marketing manager Jo Huergo said: “The new PMP means that convenience retailers are able to offer reassuring and competitive pricing to shoppers with a clear standout on shelf.
“Cathedral City cheddar is high in protein and a source of calcium, making it a nutritious savoury snack for in-home or at-desk consumption.”
Other new Dairy Crest PMPs include selections from the Utterly Butterly and Country Life ranges. Marketing manager Neil Stewart said: “The Utterly Butterly 250g £1 PMPs case of eight has been launched to target shoppers on the top-up mission.
“Dairy Crest is also re-launching Utterly Butterly 500g PMP with the price at £1.89, down from £1.99,  in eight pack case.”
