SCOTTISH pastry and pie manufacturer, Bells Food Group, has completed the first part of a three-year £3.6m investment  programme which doubles pastry production capacity at its Shotts-based factory.

The first phase, a £2.1m investment, installs new equipment including a pastry laminator and spiral freezer, extends capacity to 140 tonnes, and sees the creation of 25 jobs.

Ronnie Miles, MD of Bells Food Group said: “This new equipment will significantly boost our pastry production levels and allows us to truly compete for the first time in high-volume, commercial pastry needs.
