Nut brand set to plant the seed


AMERICAN nut brand Planters has been brought to the UK market by Kraft Heinz.
With over 100 years in the US market, it was named the country’s number one nut brand with a value of $2bn in the Packaged Nuts and Seeds survey in February this year.
The core range, to be made in the UK, will include Dry Roasted, Lightly Salted Peanuts, Salted Cashews and Salted Peanuts and Nut Mix.
And for the healthier snack market Planters Health range offers an Energy Mix of almonds, chocolate covered honeycomb, Brazil nuts, walnuts and peanuts; a Health Mix of peanuts, cashews, almonds and cranberries; and the Protein Mix containing Peanuts, Redskin Peanuts, Cashews and Almonds.
The portfolio is completed with Trail Mix and Breakfast Mix packs.
Senior brand manager Matt Mills said: “Our vision is to establish Planters as a leading brand in healthy snacking, which caters to the needs of consumers throughout the day.”
