New fish cakes take the Crown

SEAFOOD brand Ocean Crown has launched what it claims are the first gluten and wheat-free fish cakes.

The fish cakes are available in traditional fish and salmon varieties and are packaged ready to eat or heat in the oven, pan, grill or microwave.

Ocean Crown has also developed a range of gluten and wheat-free salmon and prawn pates.

Scandia Foods chief executive officer Lisa West said: “With diagnosed cases of coeliac disease on the increase and a growing number of people choosing to cut out wheat and gluten voluntarily from their diets, retailers must ensure that there are options across all fixtures to maximize potential sales.
