MEMBER-OWNED wholesaler and symbol store group Nisa says it has seen strong Christmas pre-sales with like-for-like volume orders up 5.6% on last year – an increase equivalent to 86,000 cases.
Christmas ambient pre-sell sales increased 6.5% on last year, with sales of tinned biscuits and selected confectionery products leading the gains.
The group says this year’s increases are on the back of strong Christmas trading in 2013 that saw it record 15.3% growth in value terms and 16.4% growth in volume through central distribution services.
This autumn, Nisa reckons it became the first convenience retailer to stock a gourmet own-label range – Heritage Gourmet sausages.
The range of sausages includes pork (6x400g), Cumberland (6x400g) and pork and herb (6x400g).
The launch is part of a revamp of the retailer’s own-label portfolio that has seen the creation of Heritage Pantry everyday essentials, Heritage, and Heritage Gourmet.
