FAGE UK, the firm behind Greek yogurt brand Total, says the Greek and Greek Style yogurt category has been performing extremely well over the last 12 months, driven by product innovation and marketing activity.

It says over the year it has seen sales value grow 23%.
Although 92% of Fage UK volumes are still plain yogurt, its flavoured lines are the ones that are growing fastest. The firm quotes Nielsen Scantrack data from the start of the year to August this year and says its new Fruyo range and its range of Total 0% Greek Yogurt Split pots showed combined growth of 103%.
“The buoyant sector has been well-positioned to tap into current trends of healthy eating, taste and versatility and we expect 2014-2015 will see continued growth with product innovation and new brands entering the sector,” said Stuart Forsyth, head of sales for Fage UK.
