WHILE the world’s top footballers and athletes were busy readying themselves to battle for medals symbol group Spar was picking up a brace of silvers at the International Wine Challenge. It was a 2014 performance, says the firm, that shows its own-label wines are going from strength to strength.
Spar took silver awards at the IWC for its Exclusives premium Italian wine Valle Vento Barolo (RRP £14.99) and its own-brand Spanish sparkling wine Spar Cava Rosado (£7.99).
The Spar South African Reserve Chenin Blanc (£4.50) received a bronze at the IWC, as did the Exclusives Perlezza Brut (£9) and Ursa Major Rioja Reserva (£9.99).
Chris Lewis, licensed trading director said: “These silver and bronze awards from the IWC mark independent recognition for the SPAR own-brand wine range – all of which are available at SPAR stores across England, Scotland and Wales.”
