ADVANCE planning for the massive sports events of the summer helped Londis to increase its pre-sell by 205%.
Sales figures show that Carlsberg Export, Wrigley’s, Coca-Cola, Brahma, Diet Coke and Dairy Milk’s limited-edition Strawberry & Creme bar were the top pre-selling lines.
John Pattison, Londis retail director, said: “The World Cup, Wimbledon and the Commonwealth Games give retailers a significant opportunity to capitalise on an inevitable uplift in impulse purchases this summer.
“The Londis summer pre-sell brochure was designed to help ensure retailers are fully stocked with all the products which excite and engage their shoppers, in time to drive profitable sales in the coming months.”
Attractive promotions from McCoy and Mars also encouraged Londis retailers to pre-order, the symbol group said.
