UNITED Biscuits (UB) is out to boost sales in the convenience channel with a new field sales team and trade-only website.
The website, www.betterbiscuits.com, is designed with UB’s strapline ‘Baked to Build Your Business’ in mind.
It offers retailers a five-step plan to help grow biscuit sales.
Other tools include a live news feed, a “score your store” section, which allows retailers to see how their biscuits display measures up, competitions and retailer case studies.
The field sales team will work with convenience retailers across the UK to guide them through the five-step plan. During recent trials, c-stores following the guidelines are said to have seen biscuit sales rise by 68%.
UB’s Hena Chandarana, said: “Within convenience, biscuits have under-performed in comparison to confectionery and snacks for too long. We’re excited to announce our plans to rectify this.”
