Five on Belhaven craft trail

Belhaven

DUNBAR’S Belhaven Brewery is launching a new speciality craft beer range.

Four beers are scheduled to be introduced this month with more launches planned through 2014.
The new beers include: • Twisted Thistle IPA (5.6% ABV) – described as a bold, bright, copper-coloured brew, crafted in modern IPA style with a full-bodied bitter finish.
• Scottish Oat Stout (7% ABV) – said to be an award-winning, rich, intense and complex brew with roast coffee and dark chocolate notes.
• Scottish Ale (5.2% ABV) – a rich, nutty beer with balanced malt and hops.
• Craft Pilsner (4.8% ABV) – a brand new continental-style lager made from 100% Scottish optic barley.
Following in the spring will be Speyside Oak-Aged Blonde ale (6.5% ABV) – a full-bodied golden ale with oak and whisky notes.
Chris Houlton, managing director of Greene King brewing and brands said: “Our history and heritage put us in an extremely privileged position here at Belhaven.
“I’m convinced drinkers will love our new Speciality craft range and will look forward to many more innovative new brews in years to come.”
