SPAR wholesaler and retailer CJ Lang has bought two Spar stores and post offices in Carnoustie from independent retailer and former Scottish Grocers’ Federation president Colin Landsburgh.
Scott Malcolm, managing director of CJ Lang said: “The Carnoustie stores will be an excellent addition to our company-owned store portfolio and we are delighted that Spar’s long-standing presence in the town, serving the local community, is being preserved with this acquisition. Over many years, Colin and his father have built a successful business and we look forward to developing it further.”
Colin Landsburgh said the offer from CJ Lang came at the right time, as he was looking for new challenges after 22 years in the SPAR retailing business.
“CJ Lang is a great fit for our stores and our staff – they understand our business, but also listen to local ideas,” said Landsburgh.
