Entry Process
Are you one of Scotland’s star retailers? Well, we want to hear from you. Once again, the Scottish Grocer & Convenience Retailer team is beginning its annual search for the very best in Scottish convenience retailing for the Scottish Grocer Awards.
To take part, all you have to do is check out the criteria for the category or categories you wish to enter and submit your entry via our online form. Entries open April 2nd 2026. You may enter up to three categories per store. While each category has set criteria, please feel free to include background information or pictures of your store if you believe it will help to highlight the great work you do.

Award Categories
With a range of award categories designed to cover every aspect of independent and convenience retailing, the Scottish Grocer Awards give the industry the opportunity to celebrate enterprise, innovation and success.
Judging Process
The Scottish Grocer team will gather all entries to begin the shortlisting process. Six stores will then be selected per category and each will be visited by a team of judges.
This will include a representative from the Scottish Grocer, a representative from the category sponsor, as well as a third independent judge. After the judging process concludes, the three will then deliberate on the stores they visited to choose two highly commended stores and one outright winner.
The three finalists will then be revealed shortly after the judging process concludes before the winner is announced on the evening of the Scottish Grocer Awards 2026.

Entry Advice
We encourage you to take time to really consider your application and look to the areas and categories where you truly excel. Entering a detailed submission will help you to stand out during the shortlisting phase. If you prefer, you can submit a video response to the entry questions. Please check out the award criteria to pre-prepare your answers. Any video files should be prepared in advance of completing the entry form.
